Forget about everything you had in mind because you are about to find out about something much more impressive. The new Dior flagship boutique, located in the Cheongdam-dong shopping district in Seoul, South Korea.
And despite being called a boutique, it is actually a lot more than that. It is in fact a whole fashion empire with six stories and white, oversized petal-like panels that make the architecture design building look everything you would expect from the iconic French fashion house, not to mention the fact that it is the biggest Dior’s boutique in Asia to date.
Inspired by the House’s haute couture, the new contemporary style building has been designed by the talented French architect Christian de Portzamparc and decorated by American architect Peter Marino, in order to reflect the luxury brand’s longstanding legacy and influence in the fashion industry.
The fluid and gentle curving exterior protects the steel and glass building which houses floors dedicated to everything the brand has to offer from men and women’s clothing, footwear, accessories, perfumes, exhibition space, VIP lounge and even a special Dior café where customers can enjoy deserts, coffee and other deliciousness brought by the famous French pastry chef Pierre Hermé whose creations are indeed very Dior.
The boutique ’s interior is a blent combination of various textures on the ceilings, walls, and floors that evokes a very refined elegance throughout.
Transparent spiral staircase, delicate clothing displays, luxurious furniture, massive chandeliers, marble floors, wooden decors and sunny roof terrace space are just some of the breathtaking elements that turn the whole shopping experience into an unforgettable adventure with quite a few fashion and architecture design references to be considered.
And even though it has only been open for a little more than a month, the splendid Dior boutique has already become a distinctive addition to the fashionable Korean neighborhood worth stopping by even if fashion is the last thing you care for.
