For A/W 09-10 the designer specialized in fur has created a collection for the strong and contemporary woman who’s not afraid to enjoy life even during a recession and with a sophisticated, mysterious yet seductive and feminine attitude. Fashion reflects society but as the saying goes: ”exceptions make the rules”, Ravizza’s latest collection aims to bring out the positive aspects of the depressing present.

The A/W 09-10 women’s collection offers a variety of furs, ranging from classic jackets and maxi vests to reversible capes. With natural colours like brown, grey, black and white or lemon yellow, ruby red or midnight blue for the more daring, the collection aims to suit traditional fur lovers as well as the younger generation.

Jackets are mainly short or mid-thigh long with elbow length arms, the capes asymmetrically cut and the vests long and zipped. The pieces, which are said take up to 60 hours each to produce, are mainly made of mink, chinchilla, sable or fox.

The most memorable look was the elbow length red jacket matched with red shoulder bag and hat that brought down a spontaneous applause. The accessories line offers options for the less adventurous woman with its exquisite cuffs with precious stones attached or hats in fur or with feathers attached. To travel in Simonetta Ravizza style there’s the well-elaborated limited edition line, “Luxury travel”, including beauty boxes and trolley sets in mink or kid. The reality may be rather dull at the moment but according to Simonetta Ravizza we should at least dress for a fabulous future.
