1. What inspired you to get into fashion design?
Julia always liked clothes, since she was a little girl … for me it was more casual, with time I got into it, especially when I saw my sister illustrating her homework, I began getting interested in it.
2. What’s the greatest challenge you faced during your career so far?
Sometimes doing fashion in Mexico is stubbornness, it’s a country with other priorities, it’s been all about hard work to make a place for us in the market.
3. How would you describe your style of fashion?
Based on experimenting with a deep respect for the female body and creating stylish possibilities out of errors.
4. What would you say it would be a timeless item that every woman should have in her closet?
A Margiela´s piece.
5. What can’t be missing when you are working?
Music, new records …
6. What’s your view on Mexican fashion industry?
It’s very complicated, whenever it seems it’s growing, it suddenly starts to slow down… we are working on creating alliances with textile fabricants and trying to produce pieces with Mexican material, hopefully it’ll work out!
7. What are you currently working on?
We are beginning a new stage, we want to do a male line, we did a limited edition for homes and the new women’s collection will be more accessible and casual, made with 100% Mexican fabrics.
8. What are your designing influences?
Traveling, food, music …
9. Your most memorable runway?
All of them have been very special, but the second one we did in Latin America Fashion in Madrid was very memorable, with Alexander Hercovith… also at Fashion Week Mexico, many people tell us they couldn’t stop crying!
10. What would you say is special about your designs?
We do them in an honest way, full of respect for design, each collection we treat as if it was the first time.
11. What’s the craziest experiment of fabrics you’ve made?
Cashmere and handmade silk brought together… in the nineties!
12. Where can we buy your clothes?
