NEIL M. DENARI ARCHITECTS
NMDA’s work with clients is based on a mutual need to make design a key element in solving problems and in projecting an image. Whether in an art gallery, an office, a bank, or a residence, NMDA treats each commission as an experiment that attempts to redirect expectations toward new and even better forms of functional and aesthetic performance. We believe that architecture is the greatest medium of expression in that it compresses so many aspects of life into a material organization, creating wonder and pleasure for people.
From innovative forms of structure to the allure of colors and materials, we focus our efforts on the maximization of resources and ideas. We believe in designing intelligently, where issues such as sustainability, function, and aesthetics, for instance merge into a whole greater than the parts. Indeed, we are as interested in the continuity of general culture as we are the continuity of the resources of the planet.
NMDA sees each project as a collaboration with discerning clients, consultants, and capable builders / fabricators. From the outset of each project, our ambitions always are to employ advanced techniques of design and building toward functional yet aesthetically original architecture. The design process begins with exhaustive meetings concerning client demands, site investigation, and cost analysis as a way to ground the project in real terms from the start.
These pragmatic concerns create a base that supports our relentless search for new ideas in architecture. Indeed, as we focus on the precise response to a project brief, we also create the latitude to explore architecture in ways that go well beyond a dry functionalism. Although we have developed a unique formal language over 20 years of rigorous research, our interest in working with clients to customize our on-going concerns is at the heart of the process.
