Mariella Burani made me realize why Italian fashion are celebrated around the world and why it’s always been associated with exclusiveness. I can honestly say that I loved each and every piece created by Mariella Burani for spring/summer 2010. That haven’t happened many times before. Clothes created by a real woman for real women. It can’t get so much classier than this. It wasn’t about giving us new cuts and developing new ways of design. It was simply by showing us that it doesn’t have to be so complicated as we so often are mistakenly doing. Burani’s collection wasn’t spaced or even in a new thinking way.

The core was about going back to the simple, to the classic, to nude and neutrals and black and white. Giving us loose, high-waisted and flowy trousers. More comfortable, and more easy. Bringing back the suit and making it the easiest outfit to wear. Even the hat made a comeback on her show and that brings back memories of Coco Chanel claiming that a women must never leave her house without her hat and her stockings on. She was such a lady, and by wearing Buran’s clothes, we can re-create that Chanel feeling. If I’m wrong, I promise to get back and tell you. Because one thing is for sure, I will definitely purchase a piece or two from this collection when it arrives in stores this spring.
