Paola Frani’s spring/summer 2010 show really did stick out from the average here in Milan. The audience was caught by the clothes and the power of Gold was in the center of attention. To bath in gold or to be wrapped in it is what Paola Frani is all about. We saw a lot of sparkling metallic, wet-effect and exotic skins with specially the snake in the center. Reptile chains was used as decoration but also as support for tops and dresses and wrapping snake jewels. Since I’m an addict and loves everything that’s draped, I must admit that this way of design in particular might be a good reason to why I loved this show so much.

The drapes was liquid, and with that I mean that they we’re very flowy, sliding as honey over the body in materials like jersey velo and silk georgette. In the end of the show get back to nature feels only natural for a spring collection. Frani did it by using a twirl of leaves printed on the pieces and wrapped around the soft silhouettes. White, modern pearl, pink beige and silver and gold was the main shades of the entire collection. The splash of fur and leather was just a beautiful contrast. A part from that, Frani used the exotic combination of amber and turquoise. Ebony, grey and black, topped of with bronze and copper colours.
