Costume National spring 2011

In fashion, it’s as important to keep up with time as it is to create timeless style. This season at Milano Uomo Spring/Summer 2011, Costume National brought futuristic to a whole new level.

Last season Ennio Capasa challenged himself by creating a collection through nanotechnology, this season his master talent delivered us what everyone anticipated , something different and new. His collection “organic futurism,” blending nature with technology and fashion with eco-consciousness lived up to it’s name. Simple yet classic clothes maintained a touch of exclusivity to them, as they were created by laser-cutting and thermo-welding them into submission. We saw seamless jackets and coats, with pockets attached via heat-sealing and laser cut buttonholes rather than stitches.

As the models stalked the runway, the futuristic style hinted slightly toward the Twilight phenomenon. Satin white tuxedo jackets and organza t-shirts mixed well with light-hand fabrics of sand-toned jackets, while long silk pants enhancing the powerful laser cuts. Ties were knotted underneath shirts rather than over, and casual shorts hung below the structured jackets. The striking fusion of classic and cutting-edge innovation granted an impeccable collection of powerful yet effortless dressing.
