D&G s/s 2011 Milan

Could D&G Spring Summer 2011 women collection have been more spring-inspired? No, it could not.

During Spring Summer shows time, we are used to flowers, flower prints and flower colors, but the  two Italian stylists this time have gone far beyond, paying tribute to miss green thumb and providing her with impeccable gardening outfits.

This lovely collection is a peaceful day spent in the yard. Right in the heart of the fast and electric Milan Fashion Week chaos, on the stage at Metropol theatre, a bucolic and quiet oasi made of freshness and serenity is the work of Dolce & Gabbana. The day of these romantic catwalk girls starts early in the morning, with gardening outfits made of canvas dungarees and trousers, and denim skirts, and it goes on with a picnic, mixing flowerily print with Vichy patterns. It then follows on with a cocktail where light, flower-printed, poplin summer dresses take centre stage, and it ends with a party at fresco where it is imperative to show up in long floral chiffon gowns.

Roses, hydrangeas, freesias, violets and mimosa are the symbols of this collection, which mixes different floral prints with Vichy patterns, denim and canvas, cord platform and the iconic Lily Twist.

Not a sophisticated and boring English tea party: gardening, flowering and more, D&G new girl just want to be free and a little 70’s. Peace, love… and style!
