Marcin Jakubowski

Marcin Jakubowski, a self-taught illustrator and concept artist, has worked on a variety of different animation projects, including TV shows and commercials.  However, Jakubowski did not always foresee himself becoming an artist. On the contrary, he attended Uniwersytet Gdanski where he studied Economics and Information Systems.

Jakubowski’s passion for illustration began with his exposure to digital art on the internet, and digital has since become the primary focus of his work.  Jakubowski has an incredible ability to envision and create detailed concepts and sketches in numerous genres.  As Jakubowski puts it, “I enjoy using my imagination to create other worlds.”  While using his imagination, Jakubowski still remains focused on what he considers most important – deliberately creating a mood and atmosphere that speaks to his audience.

He has gained much acclaim for his work and has been awarded a texture award for his piece Surreal in the style of Jacek Yerka by CG Society and the Grand Prix award for Beauty and the beast by max3d.pl.  Jakubowski now hopes to tap into the film and gaming industry. Keep an eye out for the next Super Mario!
