Emanuele Garosci
Our tale is set on the grandiose banks of the splendid water bodies that have called Venice home for centuries. The actor, to the say the very least, is a credit to the world of design for his vision for projects that boast all the elements of modernity, wrapped in a carefully crafted mantle, that never deliver a fraction less than the actor’s superior standards. Fuelled by a passion that is highly contagious in person and also through his work, Emanuele Garosci is etching his superiority through his relentless passion for erecting hotels of a calibre previously unseen.
Born to parents from vastly differing regions of the Italian peninsula, Garosci is a self confessed ‘110 percent Italian’ but with an international vision and an appetite for adrenaline. The latter trait landed him in the hot seat of car and motorcycle races by the age of 18. As the years raced past his visor as a professional racer, Garosci took to a new method to get his adrenaline kicks in later years; hotels. Speedness of ideas this time was able to creare surprising forward-looking revolutions in the hotellerie word since his arrival. Having gained accidental but invaluable mentoring from Ian Schrager, Garosci has brought in his own specie of design hotels that are sure to encourage meagre imitations due to their superiority on all flanks.
Emanuele Garosci’s ‘Palazzina Grassi’, which is Philippe Starck’s first venture into design hotels in Italy, has gained international repute for its tailor-made services and superior design quality. Catering to an international troupe of A-list ‘bohemian nomads’, including a surprising mix of the coolest actors, word-wide enterpreneurs, lovers of contemporary luxury, the Palazzina Grassi is bringing back the elegance that was characteristic of Venice in the early 20th century, with a contemporary twist that is owed to the cutting edge vision of Garosci.
A stay here is sure to provide the amazing emotion to feel temporarily Venetian, experiencing the feeling of the most refined ancient tradition with the best contemporary luxury comforts and the cosy atmosphere of your personal house in Venice. Garosci, an adopted resident of Venice, has several other unique projects planned for the near future. Although he likes to keep a tight wrap on the salacious details, one of his projects will redefine the Italian spa experience. Another project has been in development for an incredible 32 years, since he was 5, and will be his personal ‘eco-warrior project’. These are a couple from a handful of projects in the pipeline that are bound to further the brand name ‘Emanuele Garosci’. It is for this reason that Design42day will harbour a unique relationship with this artist, taking into account his personal philosophy on design.
Design42day in collaboration with Emanuele Garosci present D-SIGN, an opinion column that will be overseen by the latter to bring the former’s readers a new perspective on design from one of Italy’s best hoteliers and design advocates.
