Alice Fan

Born and raised in Northern California, Alice Fan began private art lessons at a young age increasing her technical drawing skills throughout her adolescent years. She became interested in photography a little after graduating high school and began taking the hobby further by embarking on a project where she would photograph a self portrait everyday for a year.

Heavily influenced by fashion and conceptual photography, Alice began constructing her own scenes and designing her own outfits with various props as well as in post production using Photoshop, in which she applies her drawing skills. She takes on a different character through each separate photo she creates, embodying different personas while exploring the boundaries of her own body. Gaining a following among friends and online, she began freelancing around the Bay Area.
She currently resides in San Diego, California studying photography and film at the University of Southern California, San Diego. Experimenting in both mediums, she has her own distinct illusory style portrayed in her work. She continues to make work through personal projects, collaborations, as well as photographing for her school’s fashion magazine
