Ana Šekularac

A sense of fluid and modern architecture , femininity and exquisite craftsmanship are some of  main features which encompass each of the Ana Šekularac’s creations.

The British-born designer of Serbian origins is currently acclaimed as one of the brightest stars under the fashion spotlights, and it comes as no surprise if you look at the perfect mix of innate creative talent, solid background and cosmopolitan inspiration.

Born in 1974 in South West London, Ana distinguished herself as model in 1993 by taking part in the Mtv/Ford Supermodel of the World Competition, following then a degree in Business Administration and Marketing in London, a Master degree in Fashion Styling in Milan and finally a Fashion Illustration and Womenswear Pattern Cutting degree in London.

Moving from the Ferrè and Miu Miu catwalks, to being assistant editor for Cosmopolitan and The Daily Thelegraph, Ana Sekularac created  her own path to become a designer and debuted with her first fashion show in Belgrade in 2005 and LFW in 2007, immediately supported by critics and loved by celebrities as Camilla Rutherford and Princess Jilisavata Karadjordevic.

She developed her ideal muse, which is a strong, intelligent and independent woman, by surrounding herself with inspirations coming from her personal experience of young woman growing up between London, Stockholm ,Milan and Belgrade. Every piece of her collections communicates its own individuality, enriched by striking details made by hand in her atelier in Belgrade.

The Spring Summer 2011 collection , all in black and white colors, by temporary abandoning the scarlet red recurring in the previous seasons, impresses for the sculptural silhouettes adorning the body, the eye catching embroidery details in linen and chiffon, spaced by sensual transparencies, and the layered ruffled and pleated skirts . Perfectly elegant and modern evening dresses for an eclectic and courageous woman.
