Tamara is one of Serbja’s most promising young talents in the fashion industry at the moment. Exhibiting obvious creative abilities since adolescence, she chose to pursue her studies at the Central St Martins College in London, and further, to train herself in the ateliers of Clements Ribeiro, Hussein Chalayan and others. During these years, she acquired life-long valuable information in the field of fashion and learnt from the best how to put her ideas effectively into practice. Through assiduous work, she managed to create a signature style which she has been sporting effortlessly on the runways of numerous fashion weeks throughout Europe. Still, despite her apparent devotion to sophisticated, rather minimalist items, Tamara seems to be on a quest to reshape the boundaries between these concepts.
As pointed out by fashion critiques, the designer has an innate talent in playing with volumes and shapes; she manages to obtain remarkable effects while keeping the lines of her creations simple and the cuts clean. She prefers working with neutral colors, which only enhances the natural beauty of the designs and add a touch of refinement. Aside from this, the fabrics used complement perfectly each and every single item. Tamara is an adept of fluid, delicate, semi-transparent cloths which confer elegance and softness, alluring the viewer. However, her last collection was revolutionary from this point of view, as she chose to break out of her comfort zone and mix silk and satin with latex and leather. The result was a breath-taking combination of feminine, sensual, matched with edgy, punk-rock pieces. Another distinct feature of the collection was the oversized padded shoulder tailored in almost all blouses and coats. This added richness to the designs, by embellishing the contrast between the flowing silhouettes and the rigid shoulder line. As a final detail, we can observe tasteful golden decorations on the cuffs of the sleeves or the neckline, adding precisely the right amount of sparkle!
