GSI Tower by Sanzpont Arquitectura
Imagine a picture frame-like building which reveals a stunning view of the Golf Course and the Caribbean Sea from its centre, hosts hotel, shopping mall and offices in the two vertical side volumes, a panoramic restaurant at the very top and an interior garden at the bottom.
The GSI Tower in Cancun, projected by Sanzpont Arquitectura, incorporates all these elements, integrating elegantly the architecture with the surrounding landscape, all being one continuous environment.
The structure is energy-efficient and compatible, the light and air enter gently from the west façade made of alucobond in the form of fish scales, filtering through the horizontal louvers, while on the east façade the view is the protagonist thanks to the serigraph sandblasted and transparent glass, which protects from the excessive sunlight.
Furthermore the double-tiered tower is connected at the top by two habitable bridges which create a second frame of both the sky by looking up, and the urban garden looking down.
The vertical infrastructure, fulfilled with natural light and characterized by neutral colors, will offer the public an elevated public square from which enjoying Cancun from a different and modern perspective and at the same time feeling immersed in its beautiful nature.
