Loft is a hand-sculpted lounge chair of solid walnut, a bridge between new and old, as it has been designed in a studio course at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, where modern design technologies are combined with more traditional techniques. The chair is, in fact, hand carved from walnut but using laser scanning to reproduce the design. It is composed by 23 pieces of timber and 11 different components which create geometrical lines, able to give a modern and sleek shape, balanced with the use of the more traditional walnut. Experimentation and tradition are, therefore, the two elements that Shelly Shelly has been capable to blend, creating a piece that enlight her impressive talent.
