Parentesys

Parentesys is one of the brands that caught our eye and in which potential we firmly believe.
The brand, born in 2002 in Chile, was trying to speak through its own, strong particular voice a common language of its country, representing a classic approach to fashion, that hopefully will transcend time.

Not long ago, Parentesys was positioned as an innovative and different design brand, consequently distributed in specialized stores. The year 2011 was marked by two important events: the successful launch of the first women collection and the participation in Colombiamoda; through this two means Parentesys started the internationalization of the brand. Parantesys stands for creativity, freedom and quality. They wish to reveal versatile, timeless collections that surpass the challenges of years passing by, and they achieve this goal by using as inspiration Chile’s culture and past motifs.

Their current collection is called Tierra del Fuego and finds its roots in the culture of the tribe Los Onas, known as nomad and hunters coming from Chile. They used to dress sparingly, painting their bodies for ceremonies, using the colors of the Earth.

The tones used in this collection were carefully chosen, resembling an emulation of the natural colors found in soil, moss, trees and rocks. The lines were very clean, almost minimal, with few details, flowing naturally. We don’t see everyday models on the catwalk with tribal painted faces, but this time we were lucky enough to witness the modern man and woman transformed in some kind of wilder animal. Particularly eye-catching and attractive was the long parrot green shirt for women, buckled with a thin siena belt.. In the same tones we find a suit for men with short pants and a sexy black tie. The trousers were the central element for the men’s collection, with a palette varying from yellow ochre to burnt amber and green earth.. Femininity was celebrated by the piece of clothing we all tend to love most, the dress. Different lengths, not too short, or too revealing, were following the curves of the woman’s body leaving just enough to the imagination.

Parantesys proved itself to be a brand under constant evolution and search for talent. We, at design42day, believe that it is worth tracking in its future development. Enjoy the photos!..
