Diane Von Furstenberg S/S 2012 New York

Diane Von Furstenberg is an icon of the American fashion; ‘Beginnigs’ is the title of the show, signed in collaboration with Yvan Mispelare, and draws its inspiration from Africa.  Leading the show are magnificent series of entirely white looks, followed by legions of prints in full DVF-style, exuberant, colorful, bright orange, knee-length skirts.  But there is room also for a bit of tenderness, with some more fragrant and vernal shade, as buds waiting for summer to explode. Natural fabrics (silk, cotton, hemp), printing, overlays and draperies for garments that combine comfort and elegance, revisiting the wrap dress (the jersey dress-gown that made Diane’s fashion famous).

For the evening the designer chooses sequins, but in a translucent version printed in soft colors to illuminate the fabric. Though the inspiration comes from Africa, there’s nothing ethnic on the catwalk, everything looks super-stylish. This is the image of a romantic and free woman, beautiful and shining with a myriad of possibilities.

Once again Diane amaze us with her captivating and airy collection recalling Seventies’ fashion, a collection that every women dream to have in her closet.
