Foleyroom by Stilikon Design

Foleyroom by Stilikon Design is the product of the joint work of two different sectors, music and visual design, that together forged something that without any further hesitation we can define unique. The Dutch studio specialized  in animation, web design, graphics and motion design has, in fact, created this surprising video animation in which we see a sculpture able to perceive and represent any minimal variation of sound. Initially the sculpture takes the form of a sphere to then continuously change shape and texture according to the beats.

The work, presented at  Milwaukee Art Museum, is based on music coming from  “Foley Room”, the 7th album of the Brazilian musician Amon Tobin, in which he used  samples recorded by himself heading out into the streets with high sensitivity microphones. Recorded sounds ranges from tigers roaring to cats eating rats, from neighbours singing in the bath to ants eating grass. The sound sculpture seems to be the perfect synthesis between these two worlds, being able to represent with its changes the infinite variety of the sound.
