Stiletto Desk by Splinter Works

The mission of Splinter Works, a London based design studio, is to shape “functional sculpture that unites conceptual, visual and practical fundamentals to create engaging and inspiring pieces”.

This is the idea behind Stiletto, a desk that can be alternatively used as desk, console table or dressing table. The hand sculpted piece made of walnut has a triangular top that rests, on one side, on a curved base and, on the other one, on one slender leg which recalls a stiletto heel that can be used also as a conduit to hide all the cables coming from the devices lying on the desk. The iconic underside of the table is made by red polished acrylic, which, together with the particular dynamic shape of the entire structure, give to it a contemporary line.

To be perfectly integrated with the sleek design, the drawers, located on the curved base and lined in red nubuck leather, come without runners and handles, but maintain their functionality thanks to their glide opening and to a hidden drill on the underside. In addition to this, to give you a “perfect fit”, Splinter Works makes also possible to customize this wonderful piece of furniture with a personal touch, deciding the finishing and dimensions.
