Aleksandar Protic ModaLisboa 2011
What could we say when we see Aleksandar Protic S/S 2012 Collection? Inspired with dominant colors and acute shapes, he joins the ‘exaggeration’ of creativity, already started by many other designers.
Aleksandar Protic offers us a lean silhoutte form of the women’s figures where the shoulders represent the key motive of the collection. Shoulder pads give the appearance of the squared-off points which in combination with tight vests and blazers accentuate that brilliant contour.
If we imagined this collection possibly in flowery prints or very electric, flaring colors its whole story would lose the authentic sense that it has. These simple and plain combination of shades and tones ‘wake up’ people’s wish and desire to follow up the old trends. Black, white and red altogether with silk, cotton and leather are just the confirmation of the rebellious and irrelevant spirit dominated within the models.
However, as many designers always draw attention to accessories and how they speak in the name of the collection, now we have the case when the collection speaks for itself. They complete it, but they don’t embrace it.
The designer creates but the model shows off. In this matter we should enjoy both, as it’s not an often occasion to live, see and savor it in one. On the other hand, that is why we love Aleksandar Protic!
