Dragon Eco Bridge

Created by Enrico Taranta in 2007, Taranta Creations is a global architectural firm, a team of architects, urbanists and interior designers. The office is located in Shanghai, China, inside the Red Town Sculpture and it takes care of different projects within the fields of architecture, urban planning, art and interior design, joined by the aim to create designs which combine the traditionality of program and location together with avant-garde of computer produced shapes.

The Eco-Bridge, a project currently in development within the Chongqing municipality, is a perfect example, a suspension bridge with a dragon shape that is going to be completed in 2012. By having a closer look from the top, we can observe the complexity of the bridge, with its gridded roof, able to diffuse the light of the sun from the top. While, by observing it from the side, it is possible to appreciate his curvilinear form, recalling a wave, which perfectly integrates with the breathtaking nature that is surrounding it.

The water flowing under it, the majesty of the mountains together with the modern lines of the bridge create an unconventional and, at the same time, amazing union, where human design and nature find a perfect and unique balance between them.
