Gavin Coyle
Gavin Coyle Studio is based in London and it is specialized in creating products that have “unpretentious” forms and create a strong emotional bond with the users, objects that are, simultaneously, beautifully made and practical. This result is obtained through quiet shapes able to adapt themselves to every environment, sophisticated manufacturing techniques, attention for details and respect for traditional principles. The studio is also specialized in designing and making items that address the specific needs of retailers, manufacturers and private clients, providing a complete service from initial design to final installation. But in order to understand how their philosophy is translated into reality, there is no better way than to look to their products.
Contrail, for instance, is a chair with a contemporary edge, thanks to the form of the arm support that, by allowing the back to flex slightly, increases both the comfort and the uniqueness of the design. Another beautiful item is Companion Rack, a dog shaped rack, which can contain magazines in its body and also one rolled newspaper in the snout. Finally, Bloom Vase is also a very interesting piece, a vase with 4 oak trays, where a central glass part is used as the axis for the other four compartments. These products synthesize modern lines, emotional content, tradition in terms of materials and techniques, craftsmanship, offering a high quality and original product.
