Shell Chair by Marco Sousa Santos

Shell Chair impersonates the imagination of the designer Marco Sousa Santos, giving a form of apparent imitation of a shell, but adapted to a shape of a piece of furniture with some particular features. It is outstanding as its name suggests. Its appearance impresses and affects the minds of its admirers, leaving them speechless.
Looking at it in more details we could say that it is a lounge chair composed of exposed plywood. The array of wooden pieces disperse into a cocoon shape, and supported by organically emerging legs. The pillows and cushions that could be held by ribs would adapt to any shape of the body, giving the chair the unique special attraction.
Available in neutral color, the Shell Chair gratifies its owners and users with its simplicity and originality. Easy adaptable to every environment due to its shape which completes the chair’s individuality, and ‘kills’ the general design of a symmetry, it is a real pleasure to have one around us.

This creation of a new type of furniture just enables us to enter into the more up-to-date world, where both modern and traditional techniques are utilized, and Shell Chair may be just the reason why we would want that world to become realistic as soon as possible.
