Winde Rienstra

Winde Rienstra is a 30 year old Dutch designer. Her talent got recognized many times in the fashion industry: she won a prize for a mini collection she designed in Australia, she was one of the finalists of the Green Fashion Competition in January 2011 and she received a project grant from Talented Makers this year.

Regarding her background, she graduated from the School of Arts in Utrecht and went at the RMIT in Melbourne for seven months.  She has also done many internships in fashion companies but the one that certainly had the most influence on her styling was at Iris Van Herpen. She started her own label in 2010.

She knows how to play with textile, fabrics and other materials. In fact, you can notice the craftsmanship behind every single piece (we could even call them pieces of art). Her creations have amazing geometrical and architectural designs which convey her core values: sustainability, timeliness, uniqueness and quality. You can feel that she cares about every detail of her white dresses. Her shoes are also to die for!

The next steps she would like to take for a career are making her label international and presenting her collections in London as well as in Paris.
