Brian Suter-Maury

Brian Suter-Maury, who just graduated from Parsons School of design (the New School), is definitely a new designer to keep an eye on. His thesis collection, presented at the Parsons 2011 Fashion show, definitely showed his great talent (in fact, he graduated with honors).

His designs are very minimalistic. He uses very sober colors: black, kaki, grey and white are predominant. For him, everything is on the geometric shapes, the sharp cuts. Any piece of cloth is uniform: he eithers uses different colors or different materials and that is what makes all the “chicness” of the pieces. Elegance and modernity would perfectly define his style.  He also plays with the length of his designs: short skirt with long coat, long dress with a long slit.

Brian Suther-Maury was born in Switzerland. He moved to New York, where he is currently based, in 2007 to start with the New School.  He is now working at Narciso Rodriguez, but has already been recognized by Saks Fifth Avenue, Vogue Italia, Elle, StyleCaster and many others.
