First Kiss

Childhood sweethearts turned glam designer duo – this is the story of Tomer Almoznino and Diana Bazeli. The two grew up in the outskirts of Tel-Aviv and on the age of twelve shared a profound moment of innocent intimacy – the first kiss. Even though their paths eventually separated it seems they have been progressing through life towards a common goal. Tomer has always known he wanted to be a designer, so he graduated in 2008 from renowned Marangoni fashion school in London.

Diana, whose grandmother thought her how to cut and sew as a little girl, shared the same dream. Years later, all grown up, Tomer and Diana would meet again, only to recall the culminating moment of their childhood infatuation and, well, to name a brand after it. “First Kiss” turns to be the fashion lovechild of the two Israeli designers and they wish to convey through their craft the overwhelming emotion and sheer excitement of the childhood kiss.
Tomer and Diana presented their latest collection, Moving Knots, at the Tel-Aviv Fashion Week. Their muse is the close friend and fashion model Amit Machtinger, with her ageless beauty and style. They have also drawn inspiration from the works of Wolfgang Tillmans (the first photographer to be awarded the Turner Prize) focusing on the simplicity and cleanness of his art, while in the same time in their own craft they develop complicated and intricate patterns and structures . Another highlight of the collection is the juxtaposition of opposites – seen and hidden, opaque and transparent, rigid and soft, as well as the idea of movement and the relation between fabrics, volumes and the female body. Tomer and Diana share an immense excitement to be a part of the fashion scene at Tel-Aviv, another main source of inspiration; yet they hope one day to be able to present their work at the London Fashion Week.
