Rasmus Mogensen

“The never-ending graphical search for homogeneity”, this is what photography means to Rasmus Mogensen. So it comes, that at the early age of eight years, the today well established photographer, took his very first steps towards being an inspiring artist, by taking pictures of animals in his garden. Continuing this path, he started his career as a photo assistant in Denmark and New York and already had his first independent exhibition in his birth town Copenhagen at the young age of 17. Now based in Paris, Rasmus Mogensen is working successfully as an independent photographer for over 15 years. During that period he already shot for Vogue, JBS Underwear and Shiseido, only to name a few. In 2007 he was honored with an Epic Award for his work.

Even though being a renowned photographer for fashion and beauty, he in no way sticks to one type of photography but also displays his talent in portraits as well as frequent exhibitions. Rasmus Mogensen does not want to be caught up in a certain pattern or style, however one can spot his passion for the female beauty by looking at his work. Esthetic but not trying to soften anything up, he shows proud looking, often nude or lightly clad, women in intimate moments. Mogensen says that in this way no cloths, which might not fit perfectly together, can disturb the picture. One can easily notice, that he truly does not need more than a plain background and great shoes forming the body perfectly, to capture the gracefulness of the female body.
