Tori Tori Restaurant
From the outside, it’s hard to define exactly what it is, a mix of stripes, curves and shapes forming a square box. The lights are strong and stand out. The Tori Tori Restaurant in Polanco, near Mexico City is not only a restaurant, it’s a statement. The project was based on a collaboration between the firm Rojkind arquitectos and Esrawe Studio workshop.
The two set out to combine design, shapes and furniture, creating a handcrafted and finished piece of steel that is pure contemporary art. Famous for experimenting with digital design, Michel Rojkind stated that they were specially focused on translating complex geometries into simple forms, in the way of making it work and built.
The furniture is comfortable and specially created for an unique dinning experience. Customers can seat on the terrace and enjoy a meal surrounded by the natural vegetation. The result is dynamic and breathtaking. It’s modern, it’s new, it’s high-tech, but at the same time, it makes you wonder about the future yet to come.
