Ginta Siceva

Growing up in Riga, Latvia, Ginta Siceva was part of a crafting oriented community. After pursuing her studies at the London College of fashion, she worked in great fashion houses as Alexander McQueen and Robinson&Valentine, among others. Looking at the handcraft designer’s collections we understand the rationale behind such fashion houses’ choice of including her work. Being inspired by nature’s resources Siceva creates masterpieces in floral patterns and insect motives, always focusing on individuality and quality of craftsmanship.
Collections range from bags, to shoes, to jewelry and even baby accessories and tableware. In all collection leather is a dominant material as she started working with such at the age of 10. Her creations are usually limited editions or even one of a kind. Especially throughout her shoe collection we see how truly artistic Siceva is: using wood and metal in the most unique sense giving it a natural look. For her “Water Drop”-boot the designer worked with Chinese pony skin. Also the supposedly more plain and wearable everyday collection employs impressive cuts and shapes.
