Scott Robertson
Scott Robertson is a concept artist, consultant for the entertainment, sporting goods, and transportation industries. He was born in Oregon, where, thanks to his father Richard, an artist, he learned how to draw and design the toys that he was dreaming about. In 1984 he attended Oregon State University, but after two years of education there, he decided to move to the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, the place where also his father had studied illustration, to dedicate himself to Transportation Design. After the graduation, he opened a consulting firm in San Francisco, designing many consumer products for medical goods and sporting goods industries.
These are just two of the many sectors with which Robertson has then collaborated. By browsing his website, in fact, it is possible to instantly recognize many of his designs for having been part of some of the most famous sci-fi movies, such Minority Report (2002) or Avatar (2009). In addition to the film industry, in the list of other clients, there are some of the most important companies in the world, such as BMW, Mattel, Nike, Sony, Fiat and many others. Among his more recent projects, there is Design Studio Press, founded in 2002, which is a publishing company dedicated to art and design education, that has created several books dedicated to the work of Robertson and other concept artists.
Design Studio Press has also recently partnered with “ The Gnomon Workshop” to create an educational dvd series, in which Robertson teaches his art.
