36h and 56h Chairs by Fabio Novembre

Fabio Novembre is nowadays one the most original and outstanding talents of not only Italian, but also international design. Two important elements of the Driade 2012 previews are these chairs: ‘36h’ and ‘56h’. These names refer to the temporal ingredient required for the skilled craftsmen who create them –it’s his way to pay homage to their work, and the value that these chairs will assume in new homes.

The interior body structure of both chairs is constructed out of an aluminum structure, and the exterior is upholstered with a plastic weaving that gives them a sinuous and ‘daydreamer’ shape, according to Novembre’s original purpose. The ‘36h’ is an easy chair that resembles a throne, with a high backrest and a delicately curved seat; whilst the ‘56h’ is, instead, a rocking chair.

Novembre demonstrates that design, as an form of artistic expression, grows from the multifaceted elements of personal passions, background and life: from the air we breathe, to love and friendships. His world is composed of dreams and boldness- and armed with the latter and lead by the other, Novembre is constantly intent to weave this unique thread.
