Flutterby shoe by Lady San Pedro
A competition that for once places professional designers and common people on the same level is Cinderthriller. This international contest, organized by Alberto Guardiani and i-D magazine, is edited by Terry Jones and aims to look for the perfect shoe through the sifting of hundreds of sketches that come from all over the world.
From the beginning of October until the end of the contest, on the November 11th, about 800 drafts from over 50 nations arrived in the hands of judges, and among them was hidden next FW 2012/2013 “it-shoe”. Judged by a panel of industry big names such as Anna Dello Russo, Georgina Goodman, Lane Crawford, Andrew Keith, Sarah from Colette Paris, Rubina Guardiani and Terry Jones himself, the delicate butterfly-heeled shoe called “Futterby Shoe”, designed by Lady San Pedro, emerged.
Lady San Pedro is a 28-year-old designer; but be careful, she’s not so much of a fashion but rather advertising designer who’s addicted to shoes -as every woman is. Lady San Pedro was born and raised in the Philippines but now resides in Barcelona and describes her design by saying that only an intelligent and vital woman can be able to fly.
And to think that it all started from pasta… it seems hard to believe that Lady started thinking of Guardiani’s brand, which led to pondering about Italy and consequently to pasta. The next step was to wonder which kind of pasta she visualized exactly, and here therefore butterflies. From pasta-butterflies to insect-butterflies was an easy and short step.
The heel of these amazing ruby suede pumps holds one of Guardiani’s brand’s important values, which is craftsmanship. In fact, it is hand painted and encloses a steel core, machined and assembled expressly each time.
Futterby Shoe tells the emotional relationship between women and their shoes, it also suggests iconicity and exudes nimbleness and femininity.
The new It-Shoe, that undoubtedly will follow the footsteps of last year’s winner –The Lipstick Heel, will be available at 10 Corso Como in Milan, at Colette Paris and, of course, at all the Guardiani boutiques around the globe.
Are you ready to fly?
