G.C.C.S.

Design is all around us. This is not just a cliché, design can be basically anywhere, even in a hospital room -and the G.C.C.S. concept is proof of this fact. The G.C.C.S. is a unique medical machine designed by Yang Yanlai, Wen Jingzhou and Wu Lengjie of N.D. Industrial Design.

N.D. is a Chinese company founded in 1992 and based in Shenzhen, thanks to its valuable team of designers and engineers it has rapidly grown and transformed in one of the most important, class A-rated design company in the Country.

One of the features that make the G.C.C.S. peerless is the real time head-to-toe monitoring and pinpointing of the treatment location in a patient’s body. This is made possible by the new integrated structure that combines both gamma stereotactic radio surgery and conformal radiation therapy. Another innovative characteristic is the real time 3D target locking system, which is extremely precise. In fact with the help of CT (which stands for compound tomography) and laser scanning, the bed platform can adjust itself to ensure the lock-on of the treatment location when the patient has any slight movement, mainly due to breathing. The result is an exceptionally scrupulous performance.

Furthermore the G.C.C.S. has achieved a notable recognition, it is Red Dot winner in the life science category for best concept design in 2010. Red Dot Award the most important design awards worldwide, and assigned according to multiple criteria such as degree of innovation, aesthetic quality, realization possibility, functionality and usefulness and manufacturing efficiency/manufacturing costs. Valuing all the entries is a highly qualified jury panel of absolute independence, each authoritative in their respective fields, that maintains quality and maximum fairness.
