Nuccio Concept

Following the released sketches, the Italian designers from Bertone revealed the Nuccio Concept dedicated to the company’s 100th anniversary. The Bertone Nuccio Concept blends the nostalgia of the past with a futuristic vision of car design. It is named in honour of Giuseppe ‘Nuccio’ Bertone, the founder of the Turin design house and is described as an ‘extreme sports-car that puts an evolutionary imprint on the concept that is built into Bertone’s DNA: the mid-rear engined berlinetta’. No details of the power-train that would underpin the Nuccio have been announced. Being a design concept, the car doesn’t really have an engine.

The low and muscular design, however, gives a hint as to the power-plant that hides under its skin.
Designed by Bertone Design Director Michael Robinson the Nuccio takes its influence from the 1970 Lancia Stratos HF Zero Concept. That car was the prototype of Lancia Stratos, one of the most successful rally cars ever.

The Nuccio is a celebration of both tradition and innovation. It underlines the history and design culture of the Italian styling company while projecting its brand identity into the future.

The Bertone Nuccio Concept is going to be premiered at this year’s Geneva Auto Show. Fellow design houses Italdesign Giugiaro, Carozzeria Touring Superleggera, Pininfarina, and even Istituto Europeo di Design have all planned to present fresh concepts on the Geneva Auto Show, so you can bet that other daring designs will pop up before the March 6 opening press day.
After its premiere the Bertone Nuccio will travel the world from Beijing to Turin and the Concorso Italiano at Laguna Seca.
