SockBox FW 2012
“Tete-a-Tete”, the collection shown at Riga Fashion Week by the Latvian brand SockBox, shows us that nightgowns and legwear truly deserve a lot of attention in the world of fashion. The collection draws its inspiration from the luxurious and chic attitudes of the 20th century and the outcome is indeed impressive. The full-length, silk nightgowns seem almost like evening robes: whirling and waving as the models float down the runway. Detail orientated lace is the dominant fabric when it comes to the exquisite stockings and garter belts, and every design seems like its own little piece of art. The colors are mainly held in light pastel tones with waist lines on the robes and a black finish giving the designs a unique elegance. The sensuous robes with their refined ribbons enforce the beauty and mysteriousness of the female beauty making making her seem almost heavenly and untouchable.
Designer Inese Krumina understands perfectly how to create provocative yet classy pieces . Most importantly, she brings back one of the most intriguing accessories of Hollywood’s historical Divas – their alluring stockings. It was probably the most erotic show during the Fashion Week, but the magic of legwear and nightgowns will definitely not be underestimated anymore after this collection. SockBox manages to engage the playfulness and sexuality of the female body perfectly: never showing too much, however, enough to reveal a sense of elegance and sensuality. It gives the modern, independent woman the chance to turn into a diva and highlight the beauty of her femininity.
SockBox produces exclusively in Latvia and every piece is hand-made from the highest quality of fabric and lace. Since its foundation in 2008, the brand started to produce also nightgowns, underwear and bodies along with their legwear. All the ladies should be thankful for the creation SockBox, reminding us that the world can never have enough beauty and grace!
