Lamborghini Urus Concept

Presented by Automobili Lamborghini at the Beijing Motor Show 2012, the Ursus Concept Car is the new creation of the Italian car maker for the luxury SUV segment with an output of around 440 kW / 600 hp. At  first glance, the car seems far from the typical image of the brand, but this impression fades away instantly after a more careful analysis of the technical details and of the design features, worthy of the brand Lamborghini.

The car design is oriented to minimalism by using advanced materials with the purpose to reduce the weight of the vehicle and  to enhance its performances and dynamics, cutting also the CO2 figure, the lowest of all comparable vehicles.
The SUV concept has four generous seats, a versatile luggage compartment, variable ground clearance and permanent all-wheel drive. The interior matches the high standards of the car with the use of innovative materials such as carbon fiber technology like the patented Forged Composite®. The primary functions can be managed from a touch screen control positioned just behind the steering wheel, while the other functions can be accessed from another touch screen control located in the center tunnel and also by rear passengers.

With this prototype, Lamborghini expresses a clear commercial intent for the future: embracing the opportunity to enlarge its customer base towards families and, more generally, towards drivers of super sports cars interested in the purchase of a SUV. A successful strategy already pursued by other luxury car makers, such as Porsche.
