The ‘Dishy’ Sofa and its chair cousin left our eyes hungry for more. Delicious, fresh and exciting are the best words to describe these unique items. The creative force behind the pieces is none else than , the highly-appraised international designer, also winner of the 2011 Red Dot Award, among many other competitions. With killer passion and admirable devotion, he tirelessly delivers hit after hit.
David Fox Consultancy Studio has done it again with the ‘Dishy’ project. With an ultra sleek and perfectly polished look, the key point is to be found in simple, elegant lines, which yield a timeless feel. According to the designer, the simpler a piece, the less reasons to start disliking it after some time. Having the aforementioned as his guiding motto, he’s dedicated his entire career to developing minimalistic concepts, cool and catchy enough to make any viewer wish to take the items home in a split second. So far, he’s done a great job considering some of his creations became classics already: recall the mushroom ‘Magic Little Stool’ or ‘The Bubble’. More on the sophisticated rather than foxy side, the designer still pulls off some pretty sexy lines in those designs of his.
There’s a certain feel of intimacy that his creations exude. Perhaps it’s due to this inviting, appealing look, that David’s designs fit perfectly in a regular home, while also, in the poshest lounge. They would instantly revive and freshen up any apartment, giving out a tres` chic note, but they would add just the right amount of effervescence to the most glamorous bar.
As for ‘Dishy’, it’s meant to be grow old alongside its owners and prove versatile enough in order to satisfy the needs of the most demanding and eccentric customers. Delivering a mammoth selection of fabrics and colors, each chair and sofa is customizable according to each customer’s needs. Perhaps ‘Chameleon’ would have made for a more appropriate name. This only comes as the cherry on top, as of course, the main focus are still the shape and the level of comfort provided. The rounded corners of the outer body contrast so pleasantly with the rectangular cushions!
