Riva Virtus 63
The legend of the Riva company begins with a devastating storm on the banks of the Iseo Lake in northern Italy, threatening the livelihood of the fishermen of the small town of Sarnico. A young man from Laglio, however, managed to fix most boats and earn his reputation as a master of his craft. This is how in 1842 Pietro Riva laid the grounds for one of world’s oldest most renowned shipyards. Forty years later Ernesto Riva, Pietro’s son, combined his father’s superb quality and craftsmanship with technological innovation. The next successors, Serafino, and afterwards Carlo Riva, steered away from industrial and transportation vessels and focused on outboard engine boats and pleasure boats, creating some of the most elegant and luxurious yachts worldwide. In May 2000 Riva became part of the Ferretti Group, a global leader in design, construction and sale of motor yachts.
In celebration of its 170th birthday the iconic Riva brand introduced the new flagship of their open line – 63’ Virtus. The new model is the largest open-top sports cruiser produced by the shipyard, maintaining Riva’s characteristic refinement and class. 63’ Virtus is the product of the fruitful collaboration between Officina Italiana Design, exclusive designers of all Riva yachts, the AYT – Advanced Yacht Technology, the Ferretti Group’s naval research and design centre, and the architects and designers at Centro Stile Ferretti Group. The new sporty yacht features clean lines, wider and more comfortable living spaces, and topnotch on-board technological equipment. The interior maintains a fine balance between tradition and modernity, relying on well matched sets of contrasts in colors and textures. The deck is equipped with every fancy knick-knack there is – from sunbeds to a grill. To top it all, 63’ Virtus delivers a superb performance with a top speed of 40.5 knots and minimum noise.
