Archipelago I & II by Eagle Wolf Orca

Eagle Wolf Orca is a transatlantic creative collaborative composed by Emmet Rock, Fritz Riha and Marc Reisen. Strangely enough, the physical distance between these young designers is not seen as a limitation, but rather as a focal point for unity that goes beyond time zones and continents. Their narrative designs yearn to tell stories that “don’t lack human empathy”; and trio successfully manages to do so, without the use of words.
Archipelago I and II are the names of two stunning tables created by Emmet Rock. The first is composed by two stones placed on a glass table which is held up by dark metal frames. The second, instead, comprises of a singular large stone wrapped around a glass table. These delicate arrangements between stone and glass oppose a notion of modern design, the one defined by clean lines and ambiguous notions of simplicity. It begs the viewer or user to question aesthetics through unconventional forms and shapes.
However, if nature is the ultimate referral for inspiration, harmony and tangible transparency, what could be simpler than a sheet of glass embracing a stone?
