Presentation of Art’ Com School

The School of design Art’ Com was created in 1988; it is nowadays a private institution of higher education recognized by the State and authorized under number 205/2003. Founded by illustrious architects and designers, the school is recognized by the state and grants diplomas equivalent to the Bachelor’s and the Master’s degrees. Mindful about its future and its development, Art’ COM Sup implements an innovative academic project that stresses the development of autonomy, the capacity of initiative and the mastery of the fundamental professional skills. The school’s mission is to train professionals of creation, young designers who will be able to be up to the formidable economic issues that face the country, and who will use all their talent to imagine the world of tomorrow.

 

Academic and educational Project

A constant openness to the world and to the immediate environment, and a pedagogy based on the learner’s personal project make this school a privileged place of training and self-fulfillment that can make its students well-equipped for the demanding world of creation and design. Various creative exercises, founded on research, experimentation and the use of important technical methods and tools, either traditional or innovative, are articulated within theoretical lessons aiming at the acquisition of a general culture and the exercise of critical and plural intellectual reflection. A team of academics and confirmed professionals ensure the theoretical and technical studies and training which are based on four axes:

The fundamental subjects cover the various fields of general culture, the techniques of communication, and languages. The technical subjects include construction, the study of materials, the print, semiology, marketing, and communication. The arts subjects include drawing, documentary study – color, rough sketching, and the techniques of representation, audio-visual techniques, photography, modeling, and perspective. Workshops of creation of interior architecture, graphic designing, of product and multi-media designing are also included.

 

ACCESS PREREQUISITES :

Entry to the 1st year is open to candidates who are holders of a baccalaureate: all types, after taking and passing the entry test to the school.

 

DURATION OF THE STUDIES:

Three years are necessary for the acquisition of a Bachelor’s degree in designing, and two additional years for obtaining a Master’s degree in interior architecture, graphic or multi-media designing.

 

DEGREES :

Bac+3, is equivalent to the Bachelor’s degree in interior architecture or graphic designing.

Bac+5, is equivalent to a Master’s degree in interior architecture, graphic or multi-media designing.


STUDY COURSES

 

BACHELOR’S DEGREE IN DESIGN

1st year: this joint base of studies includes lectures on techniques of communication, English, colour theory, arts culture, as well as practical exercises in various fields of artistic expression and representation; synthesis workshops in graphic design and interior architecture will provide students with an initiation to project practice.
2nd year: students get theoretical training, courses in esthetics and basic techniques and the tasks of developing a methodology of personal work.
3rd year: the studies aim at the improvement of the student’s techniques of expression and representation, the mastery of the project techniques in designing through a number of exercises and undertaking longer projects in the selected option.

 

MASTER’S DEGREE IN DESIGN

4th year: during this year the students deepen their theoretical knowledge and mastery of the designing methodology and project realization.

 

In the 5th year: after a semester devoted to knowledge improvement and to research about the topic of his subject of end of studies project, the student is confronted with the reality of the professional environment during a professional training course.

 

International Partnerships

Art’ COM Sup is the 1st school in North Africa to join the international association Cumulus which includes 170 prestigious schools of art and design throughout the world. Its entry in May 2010 enabled it to sign many partnership conventions with several foreign schools.

The school of Design of Nantes, the school Maryse Eloy in Paris, and the Axe Southern Marseilles school, have all signed a convention with Art’ COM Sup that makes it possible for our students to carry out visits abroad and to experience other forms of teaching and learning.


National Partnerships

Art’ COM Sup works in close cooperation with local companies and creators. The students thus get the opportunity of applying their skills to the concrete problems during their in-company training periods, or during workshops conducted by professionals and international experts.
