The British Higher School of Art and Design (Moscow) was established in 2003 to teach and train Russian students according to the standards of the leading international education programmes in the design world.
The British Higher School of Art and Design is one of the most important educational centres in Russia working in close partnership with the Faculty for the Creative and Cultural Industries of the University of Hertfordshire in the UK and specialising in professional education in various creative fields.
The unique benefit of The British Higher School of Art and Design is in receiving British Higher Education, yet the education takes place in Russia. This opportunity is provided by education programmes which are validated by the University of Hertfordshire (UK). The basic principle is that the courses of British Higher Education on offer in Russia are valid and complete in terms of providing its graduates with appropriate academic awards from the University of Hertfordshire.
Today, The British Higher School of Art and Design is developing the education of design professionals in two ways. Primarily, on the British higher education programmes students, over a few years, receive a fundamental training to world standards of quality, appropriate international academic awards and the opportunity to continue their education in the UK. The period of study lasts from 3 to 4 years depending on the choice of study mode.
Another string in the School’s bow is retraining programmes and Continuous Professional development courses for practicing designers.
The British Higher School of Art and Design is a member of the following international associations: the Teaching Designers Network (TDN), British Design and Art Direction (D&AD) and the International Council of Graphic Design Associations ICOGRADA.
