Located on a 600+ acre site in Canyon Point, Southern Utah, close to the border with Arizona, the Amangiri Resort is the result of a collaboration between three architects: Marwan Al-Sayed, Wendell Burnette and Rick Joy.
The project of the desert resort challenged the three architect studios to work on the awe-inspiring site, and aimed at creating a settlement that both honors and celebrates the magic and mystery of the site´s cliffs and rock formations.
It is definitively evident how the architecture was conceived to blend into the landscape through basic geometries, but also thanks to the use of natural hues, materials and textures in the design.
The structure, in proportion with the scale of the surroundings, provide an intimate setting from which to view and appreciate the colorful, stratified rock and valleys spread around the desert resort.
The whole space is built around a main swimming pool. A central Pavilion embraces a dramatic stone escarpment. Within the Pavilion are the Living Room, Gallery, Library, Dining Room, Private Dining Room and Cellar.
Amangiri offers 34 suites in total, which are spread on two accommodation wings, starting from the central Pavillon: 13 Desert View Suites, 14 Mesa View Suites, one Terrace Suite, two Pool Suites, two Terrace Pool Suites, the Girijaala Suite and the Amangiri Suite.
Outward views from the desert resort look over the untouched valley surrounded by lofty bluffs.
The exclusivity of the location, the service and the design offer a life-changing experience of intimate contact with the nature that fuses our body and soul with it.
