Designer David Andersen’s show presenting his AW14 collection was state of the art in cool Nordic nights. His collaboration with the Danish carpet producer EGE introduced new and spectacular carpet design both for the square catwalk covering half the city hall in Copenhagen, but also manifest in the four dresses exhibited at the entrance. Innovative co-creation.
The models followed the design of the carpet and consequently avoided the sometimes tedious up-and-down the catwalk. As the cold moonlight glare faded into warmer shades, the collections for both women and men gradually developed from all-black into vague shimmer – with a bright silver finale. The classic and tight David Andersen fit emphasised the sensuality and energy in the women’s design. A rarity in times of square styles and loose-fits everywhere else you look.
More than nice watching a designer following his own mind and sharing his designer skills rooted in fashion with both interior and industrial design. The goody bags held straightening irons designed by David Andersen, you see.
