Adidas footwear goes green

In the sea of environment-friendly design projects, the collaboration between Adidas and Parley for the Oceans takes recycled clothing to the next level. With their new cutting-edge sneaker concept, the brand and the organisation created a prototype shoe that once again attached the word sustainability to the always innovative Adidas footwear.

The partnership brought into being the said concept shoe, which has an upper part made completely from yarns and filaments produced using ocean waste that was retrieved during a 110 day expedition off the coast of West Africa. That being said, with the striking green stitching on the upper part that sits atop the brand’s already known Boost sole, Adidas footwear went green both metaphorically and literally.

In addition, this early model of a runner is just the beginning of a larger project, and more eco-friendly products are expected to be presented later this year by the same two members of the partnership.
