Companion Parrot by Tithi Kutchamuch

Companion Parrot by Tithi Kutchamuch - Cover

The question posed can only be directly answered by tastes and personal inclinations. However, Tithi Kutchamuch’s “Companion Parrot” seems to fall right upon the edge of the two sides, balanced between morbidness and light-heartedness.

“Companion Parrot” is a combination of a necklace and its holder; when joined, the two pieces (skull and body) come together as a quirky piece of home décor. In order to wear the necklace, one simply has to pull the replica of the parrot’s skull from the body and “release” its entrails that are attached on a delicate, thin chain. Once used, process is reversed and the bird ironically comes back to life.

Tithi Kutchamuch is a London based artist/designer that uses jewelry and sculptures as mediums. Her work is largely influenced by her love for animals and achieved by perceiving seemingly-forgotten objects and stories through her own particular lens.
