In 2011 IED chose Design42Day as media partner. Thanks to its high standard, strict selection criteria and attention to the upcoming talents, design42day appeared as the perfect media for students and projects to gain visibility and make themsleves known to companies and audience.
For more than forty years, Istituto Europeo di Design has been operating in the fields of education and research in the disciplines of design, fashion, visual arts and communication. Since 2011 Management Lab has been added to these disciplines, representing a new school for the creative industries that will implement the didactic of the entire Group with its contents.
Today IED is an International Network with seats in Milan (1966), Rome (1973), Turin (1989), Madrid (1994), Barcelona (2002), São Paulo in Brazil (2005), Venice (2007), Florence (2008) and Cagliari (2009) and organises three year post high school diploma courses, specialization and refresher courses, advanced training courses and post-graduate Masters degree courses. In 2011 the opening of the second seats in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, is scheduled.
IED Moda, IED Design, IED Visual Communication and IED Management Lab are the four Schools of the “IED System” that meet the needs of the world of work, through training pathways targeted to the specific needs of the reference industries and characterized by a common origin – the design – and by the project culture.
Since 1966 IED has developed innovative and diversified teaching methodologies, focused on the synergy between technology and experimentation, creativity, strategies and integrated communication, market issues and a new form of professionalism. Actually, Istituto Europeo di Design is aimed at offering young professionals working in the fields of Fashion, Design and Communication the most efficacious tools necessary to meet the constantly developing requirements of the world of work.
Partnerships with foremost enterprises is a fundamental issue in Istituto Europeo di Design’s education strategy, which characterises the entire training pathway of both courses and special Academic End Year events.
In line with its international vocation, Istituto Europeo di Design welcomes students from different countries and cultures in all of its Seats. Every year, around 1.800 foreign students mainly coming from East Asia, Central and South America and Europe enrol in its courses. Throughout its history IED has trained students from 92 different countries.
Thanks to its territorial growth, IED plays more and more the role of Culture and European Design Projects Ambassador participating in numerous countries in cultural, economic and environmental issues.
