Cooking has never been so easy!
Hide and Seek, pot with lid, is one of the projects presented at the Salone del Mobile 2011 of Milan, within the “Extrability” permanent exhibition and workshop dedicated to objects designed for the preparation, consumption and preservation of food and beverage, under the label of “designed for all”.
The main theme of the project is the application of industrial design to objects and components accessible to people with disabilities. The idea of Hide and Seek is the result of the teamwork of Elena Imbornone, Yael Hadad and Zoe Van Reeth, three young students from the three-year course in Product Design at IED Rome. Pot and lid have been designed to allow people with arm impairments to bring a hot pot to the table easily and safely. The silicon lid, with the magnetic tablemat, covers the pot protecting hands and body from the heat.
The funny shape of the pot makes it particularly pleasant to the eye. It is also interesting to note that the creators of the product have constantly worked together as an international team: Yael is Israeli, Zoe is Belgian, Elena is Italian. Their teamwork is in line with the international character of IED programmes, which, every year, are attended by students from different countries and cultures.
