Colorful Kitchen Utensils

Italian designer Andrea Ponti, who is currently living in Honk Kong and working in a “Ponti Design Studio”, created three unusual and fun kitchen utensils made from matte plastic. It consists of a salad bowl and two differently shaped tea infusers.

“Diga” is a two color multifunctional salad bowl. Supposedly usual salad bowl has an unexpected feature – a disk at the bottom. It can be turned counterclockwise to drain water, thus transforming salad bowl into a strainer, where vegetables can be washed and drained. Turning the same disk clockwise, drain locks, so the vegetables can be served like in a regular bowl.

“Koma” is a tea infuser which has a round base and a long handle made from a stainless steel. The steel cover opens and closes, allowing to fill in or empty the tea infuser easily. Besides, this it works as a spoon, as it allows to stir tea.

“Torus” is another tea infuser, but with a different design. It is donut shaped and twistable to S- shape, so it can be easily hanged to every cup. It is accompanied by a case which is able to contain up to three tea infusers. Additionally, they can be used for a dry storage of a loose tea.

All three kitchen utensils are designed for “Ommo” – a new design-oriented brand firstly introduced at the “Ambiente” show in Germany on February, earlier this year. The philosophy of this brand is to create good looking and user – friendly and functional items. These three original, minimalistic and colorful pieces meet all the guidelines, as they are useful, original and made from affordable materials.
