Jellyfish — the oldest fragile touch of the ocean that carries over 500 million years old history of civilization and the only creatures that rely on movement for the sustenance of their lives. As they move in harmony with the currents of life, they teach us how to flow with the natural forces of Mother Earth. Now it can serve as a very symbolistic and meditative home decor to everyone who feels captivated by the depth of oceans.
Florence Samain and Dave Monfort, the founders of The Darwin Sect, which, since its conception in 2014, showcases a vast array of insects, beautifully staged in Napoleonic era globes, are passionate about letting people discover the natural beauty occurring in the world around them and now has created an astonishing jellyfish aquarium called “The Darwin Tank“.
The shape of the aquarium implies that the opening is underneath, which is made possible by an adjustable Inox clasp with quick fittings. This clasp exerts an equal pressure on bevelled sides and contours of the globe and the bottom, called the flange. The aquarium has the O-ring seal, which is nestled in the flange of the globe. To open the tank, it has to be turned upside down.
Due to its substantial weight when filled, a small pump is used to fill or empty the aquarium to facilitate and complete any and all manipulations. After the aquarium has been partially emptied, paying close attention that the jellyfish are still comfortable, the aquarium can be easily handled and opened. One of the materials used for this aquarium is Boro 3.3., which is resistant to thermal shock more than any other common glass.
The Darwin Sect recommends a number of dazzling jellyfish species like the moon jelly, the spotted jelly, and the blue blubbers jellyfish to keep in a tank.
This home decor will definitely let you think about a sense of life — when the jellyfish swims into your life, ask yourself if you are flowing with life in the same balanced manner as they do.
