Minimalism is a modern movement that nowadays is quite often used in work of art. Young designers use minimalistic style to combine simplicity and functionality and create something exceptional. These minimalistic lamp series is a new project by young artist Hannakaisa Pekkala, which surprised everyone with the lightnings’ strict lines and fascinating graphics.
Hannakaisa Pekkala is a student and young designer from Northern Finland. Her works are reflections of her daily life: combinations of urban lifestyle and peculiarities of Scandinavian nature. Hannakaisa is a winner of this year’s Northern Lighting, where she presented her new project “Symmetry”. Hannakaisa mentions that she wanted to create something extraordinary and contemporary to fit in a modern interior design.
“Symmetry” is a minimalistic lamp series that catches attention at first sight. Strict lines and different shapes are central aspects of the project. Hannakaisa admits that the idea of the project was born when she was drawing different geometric shapes. She noticed that these geometric shapes together could make a sculptural piece and Hannakaisa started the implementation of her idea. Thus, the pendant lamps are available in three different shapes: square, circle and diamond. Different versions could be grouped together in order to create an individual setting, while one lamp alone could be used as an emphasis in any interior design.
Scandinavian lamp by Hannakaisa Pekkala is a great example how a simple thing could become the centre of any interior design. Moreover, such unusual elements will always amaze your guests and create cozy and pleasant atmosphere in your house.
